Responsibility and scope

Account holders are responsible for all files, software, communications, and activity performed through their accounts and services, including activity performed by authorized players, members, or staff.

Services must be reasonably monitored and abuse must be stopped and reported to Hostivo when discovered.

Hosting a project does not mean Hostivo approves, sponsors, or endorses that project or its content.

Unlawful or harmful activity

Hostivo services must not be used for:

• Activity that violates applicable law or a binding court order.
• Fraud, impersonation, phishing, or account theft.
• Distribution of stolen data, passwords, or leaked access tokens.
• Child exploitation or child sexual abuse material.
• Credible threats or direct encouragement of violence.
• Extortion, stalking, or unauthorized disclosure of personal data.
• Terrorist activity, violent recruitment, or operational support.
• Unlicensed gambling or lotteries where a license is required.
• Sale or distribution of unlawful goods or services.

When laws differ between the customer’s country and the server location, all laws applicable to the activity and service must be followed.

Attacks, intrusion, and malware

The following are specifically prohibited:

• Conducting or assisting DDoS or DoS attacks.
• Operating botnets, command nodes, or networks of compromised devices.
• Distributing malware, ransomware, spyware, or information stealers.
• Scanning systems without permission from their owner.
• Brute-force, credential-stuffing, or password-cracking activity.
• Exploiting vulnerabilities to access another person’s systems or data.
• Spoofing network information or generating deceptive amplified traffic.
• Providing tools primarily intended to perform harmful activity.

Load, stress, and security testing require prior written permission from Hostivo, even when the customer owns the target system.

Spam and abusive automation

Services must not be used to:

• Send bulk or direct messages without recipient consent.
• Send automated advertising unrelated to an application’s function.
• Harvest email addresses or user data without permission.
• Artificially inflate members, views, activity, or engagement.
• Operate self-bots or automated user accounts against platform rules.
• Circumvent third-party rate limits or technical restrictions.
• Repeat requests in a way that disrupts users or systems.

Content and intellectual property

Customers must have the rights or licenses required for all files, maps, plugins, music, images, and software used through their services.

The following are prohibited:

• Distributing pirated games, software, or paid files.
• Removing copyright notices or software license information.
• Using trademarks to falsely imply sponsorship or approval.
• Hosting content that unlawfully violates privacy or intellectual property.
• Distributing non-consensual sexual or exploitative content.
• Using hosting storage mainly to distribute unrelated files.

When a credible rights complaint is received, we may request removal or restrict access while the report is reviewed.

Minecraft servers and Discord bots

Minecraft servers

• Follow applicable Microsoft, Mojang, and Minecraft usage rules.
• Do not claim a server is official or approved by Mojang or Microsoft.
• Have permission to use all maps, plugins, mods, and resources.
• Server owners are responsible for purchases, privacy, and player management.
• Do not redistribute Minecraft game files without authorization.

Discord bots and applications

• Follow Discord’s Terms, Developer Policy, and Community Guidelines.
• Do not request Discord passwords or user tokens.
• Do not send direct messages without clear user permission.
• Do not bypass bans or Discord privacy and safety controls.
• Protect bot tokens and application credentials from disclosure.
• Do not manipulate server membership or activity.

Customers are responsible for monitoring updates to the policies of platforms their services use.

Resource and network use

Customers must not:

• Circumvent CPU, memory, storage, or network limits.
• Run cryptocurrency mining or password-cracking workloads.
• Operate a public VPN, proxy, or Tor exit without written approval.
• Run stress testing or traffic generation without permission.
• Perform sustained workloads that harm other customers.
• Store large unrelated files solely for archiving or distribution.
• Resell or rent Hostivo resources without permission.

Resources may be limited or a service may be migrated when sustained usage affects server or network stability. We will attempt to contact the customer first when the risk permits.

Customer security responsibilities

Customers must:

• Use strong passwords and available security controls.
• Keep servers, bots, plugins, and dependencies updated.
• Remove untrusted software and plugins.
• Grant administrative access only to trusted persons.
• Protect API keys, bot tokens, and database credentials.
• Report compromise or unknown activity immediately.

A compromised service may be temporarily isolated to prevent further harm, even when the account holder did not intentionally perform the harmful activity.

Policy enforcement

Depending on the violation and its severity, Hostivo may:

• Issue a warning and provide time to resolve the issue.
• Limit resources, restrict networking, or isolate a service.
• Remove or block unlawful content where necessary.
• Suspend a service or account while an incident is investigated.
• Terminate services for serious or repeated violations.
• Preserve records or cooperate with authorities where legally required.

Immediate action may be taken without advance notice during active attacks, malware incidents, urgent risks, or valid emergency legal requests.

Services terminated for an AUP violation are normally ineligible for a refund under the Refund Policy.

Reports, appeals, and Policy changes

To report abuse, open a support ticket and include the relevant IP address, domain, or service identifier, a description, timestamps, and available evidence.

If your service is suspended and you believe the decision is incorrect, request a review through an official ticket and provide a clear explanation and supporting evidence.

This Policy may be updated when risks, services, platform policies, or laws change. The current revision date appears at the top of this page.
